Suicide costs the world over 1 trillion dollars a year in lost productivity. You might not care about people, but I’m willing to bet that you care about finances. You might think that the largest suicidal population is simply being a United States Veteran. 22 percent of all suicides are from Veterans. The highest impact on your investments, businesses, stocks, taxes, is from transgender people.
Some studies estimate that 40 percent of American transgenders commit suicide. Estimates of up to 1.4 million transgenders live in America. If 40 percent suicide is anywhere near accurate, I want you to know that over the course of a lifetime, those numbers are higher than the entire populations of Iceland and Samoa combined. Add schizophrenia’s 12 percent of 3.5 million in America alone, and you’ve just lost the population of Belize. Add Veterans’ 8,000 a year, and a century takes out Guyana.
Consider the math. America loses about 100 billion dollars itself to suicide, each year. Hatred, bigotry, and confusion are adding to the deficit. Much of that hatred comes from people who blasphemously call themselves believers.
I am a Christian, I love God with all my heart, and I know what Mark 12:31 says. As a veteran, my risk of suicide is high, which makes transgenders my neighbor. So I love them. “There are no commandments greater than these.” To quite a wise messiah.
I feel it is my duty to start a non profit organization to help those in need. My goal is to help suicidal people, and I truly believe it is my mission in this life. This includes the risks of the 400,000 kids in foster care, of which 65 percent end up with mental illness, and the 250,000 children in juvenile detention facilities, of which 70 percent have a mental illness.
The Crazed Haven is what God put in my heart. And the metaphor of The Raven is what He gave me to work with as an identity.
